Cerro Gordo track is a medium distance MTB route with a moderate elevation, running through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the hidden side of Moncayo, through beautiful pine reforestation and native holm oak forests.
This mountain bike route in Zaragoza province starts in the town of Purujosa, in the Comarca of Aranda. After a first section on local roads to warm up, there is an ascent on a track to the Fuente del Tajo, which begins with several steep hills.
From there, the route circles the Cerro Morrón, ascending on several short but very steep slopes, only suitable for cyclists in good shape. Once reaching the peak, the panorama over Moncayo and the whole Ebro valley is spectacular, it being possible to see the Pyrenees on clear days.
From the Collado de la Estaca a fun 9km descent beings through the forest, after which the final difficult section begins, an unexpected ascent with elevation of over 100 metres.
Once this has been passed, there is a comfortable descent on a track, and then by road until reaching Purujosa.
